Welcome To The Keane Foundation Website

keane memorial sports centerThe Richard M. Keane Foundation was established to create a 9/11 Memorial Sports Center in the Wethersfield community. Richard Keane and two other Wethersfield men died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. A Sports Center in their memory is a positive and wonderful way to commemorate life’s happy events, as well as to remember lives lost.

The purpose of the Foundation in collaboration with the Town of Wethersfield, is to provide a safe and fun environment in which youth can come together to participate in athletic, academic, and social programs with the support and guidance of caring adults.

A Board Member Reflection: 20th Anniversary of September 11, 2001

I am proud to serve on the Richard M. Keane Foundation Board in order to keep Dick Keane's memory alive, and to support Judy Keane's tireless efforts to make Wethersfield a better community for its citizens.  Through its fundraising efforts, the Foundation has not only made significant annual monetary contributions to the town, but has also provided fun activities for children and adults to enjoy. With our primary focus now on the after-school enrichment programs, I am particularly pleased with how we are supporting the growth of our children.

Mark Wallace, Board of Directors
