2024 Cove Side Carnival
The Cove Side Carnival, held October 18, 19, and 20, 2024, was a great success this year. The weather was unseasonably warm, and families from Wethersfield and all around Connecticut came to enjoy rides, food, and fun!
The Mission of the Richard M. Keane Foundation is to provide fun programs where children learn through experience. The Keane Foundation provides After-school Enrichment Programs at Wethersfield’s five Elementary Schools and in-school Hands-on Science Programs for every Elementary School classroom.
This is our largest fundraiser, and we are so thankful that it can bring enjoyment to so many while supporting our mission.

Keane Enrichment Program Showcase
We celebrated the Richard M. Keane Foundation’s 23-Year Success Story!
This event is thanks to the community’s support, state and local grants and individual donations that make our programs possible. Afterschool programs have become important post-pandemic to enhance social and emotional skills lost during COVID.
9/11 Open House for Afterschool Enrichment Program
Thank you to everyone who attended our Open House on September 11th. We appreciate everyone’s continued support of the Richard M. Keane Foundation. We are so glad everyone got to experience some of the enrichment programs we provide to the children in the Wethersfield Elementary Schools, both during and after school.
September 11th is an important day of remembrance for the foundation, and spending the evening with all of our supporters, as well as the families and children who are so special to us, was a great way to spend it.
23rd Annual Keane Foundation 5K Walk & Run
On June 4th, the Keane Foundation celebrated its 23rd 5K in beautiful Old Wethersfield. This 5K also begins an exciting partnership with Laura’s Garden for future 5Ks.
The beautiful sunny morning brought out 187 participants who ran, jogged, or walked, including Wethersfield Elementary School’s running club participants. See results.

Keane Foundation/UNICO Golf Outing – 2024
The UNICO/Keane Foundation Golf Tournament, held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at the beautiful Wethersfield Country Club, was a huge success this year. Registration began at 10:30 AM with a full flight of Golfers, and the many very generous sponsors made the day a profitable one for both organizations.
The Mission of the Richard M. Keane Foundation is to provide fun programs, where children learn through experience. The Keane Foundation provides After-school Enrichment Programs at Wethersfield’s five Elementary Schools, as well as in-school Hands-on Science Programs for every Elementary School classroom.
Unico uses funds raised to provide book scholarships for graduating High School students who will be attending college in the fall. They also contribute to Cancer Research, House of Bread as well as many nonprofit organizations in Rocky Hill and Wethersfield.
